Both Rajae’s personality and her artistic path meet in the centre of three foundations: adventure, discipline and faith. At the age of sixteen she was the first North African to be admitted into the Dutch Conservatory and started Truthseeker Records, her own record label. In November 2011, for the fourth year in a row, she was the only female contemporary singer to appear on the Arts and Culture section list of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world, published by an institute in Amman, Jordan and Washington. The Music of On Impulse is best described as electric Jazz / Fusion with a lot of influences of other music styles. For starters the setting will give you a feeling of nostalgia: Coen is sitting between his organ and Fender Rhodes and synths. His sounds will bring you back to the days of early Jazz Rock, not that digitalized sound of the postmodern! Frans is playing his old Fender Jazz bass, which will remind you of Jaco Pastorius, and drummer Sebastiaan, with his "high energy" grooves, is the motor of the group!
